If your Landlord seeks
to evict you without following the correct procedures
laid down by law, he could be acting in breach of
the Protection from Eviction Act 1977. Not only
is this a criminal offence, it could also entitle
you to claim substantial damages. Likewise, if your
Landlord threatens or harasses you this also could
be a criminal offence that could entitle you to
claim damages as well. Eastleys can assist you in
resenting such a claim.
If your Landlord has allowed the property to fall
into a poor state of repair this can also entitle
you to claim damages.
If you are an assured or Rent Act protected tenant
you enjoy considerable security of tenure provided
you do not breach the terms of your tenancy agreement.
Should your landlord seek to evict you, we can advise
you whether you have any grounds for defending such
a claim and defend the proceedings on your behalf. |
