Inheritance Disputes
We always advise people to make a Will. Sadly people often do not do this and as a consequence their estate is divided in accordance with the rules of intestacy. This can sometimes result in partners and spouses receiving less than that to which they consider themselves entitled. In such circumstances it is possible to make a claim for an additional share of the estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act. Even when a Will has been made, if that Will does not adequately provide for a member of the family or a dependant, it is possible to make a claim under the same Act. We at Eastleys have a wide experience in both prosecuting and defending claims of this nature.
