| How much will it cost |
So many people don’t
seek legal advice because they think it will cost
them too much money.
In fact, more people than ever are eligible for
Legal Aid. If your gross household income (including
that of any partner) is below £27,500 and
you have savings of less than £3,000 then
you may well qualify.
If you are over the limit for the initial type of
Legal Aid (known as the Legal Help scheme) because
of your savings, you may be eligible for Legal Aid
for representation in any court proceedings if your
gross income is the same as above, and your savings
do not exceed £8,000. Please bear in mind
that you may have to pay a contribution to this
type of Legal Aid.
If you are over the limit for Legal Aid, you would
have to pay privately. At your first interview,
which is absolutely free, our solicitors will explain
the basis on which we charge and give you their
best estimate of how much your case will cost.
We will give you regular reports on the costs of
your case so that you are not faced with a big bill
at the end.
