Domestic
Violence
Ms A. had suffered years of intimidation and bullying
from her partner. They weren’t married but
had three children. Ms A did everything in the house
and cared for the children as well as working part
time. However, she had very low self esteem and
felt completely trapped in the relationship. She
felt she may be suffering from a nervous breakdown
and was worried about the effect on the children.
She came to us for advice, we issued an application
the following day and and within a very short time
we were able to get an injunction to remove Mr A
from the home. We continued to advise Ms A about
residence and contact matters relating to the children
(see our information sheets) so that they could
continue to have good contact with their father.
Several months later, Ms A is much more confident
and the children are happy and secure.
